Eine ganz wunderbare Überleitung von Van Sant zu Östlund:
The influence of Gus Van Sant at his
most self-indulgent is in evidence throughout this dry as dust collection of
filmed scenarios. The camera doesn't move. Shots are deliberately framed in
such a way that heads are cut off. The sound is ambient. The characters are
shallow and uninteresting. If there were such a thing as a Swedish Dogme
manifesto, Involuntary could be an example of it. As it stands, it's merely an
example of how not to make a film, unless you want to limit the audience to
folks who are convinced that the lack of a story and technical ineptitude are
the mark of genius. It's hard to believe this was Sweden's official entry for
the Academy Awards in 2010. (John Seal – imdb)
Ich habe den Film vor zwei Jahren
zufällig im Internet entdeckt. Es handelt sich um einen formal recht strengen
Film: Wie bei Roy Anderson, werden die Szenen immer mit
statischer Kamera und von einem Standpunkt aus aufgenommen. Allerdings
hat die formale Ordnung nicht wie bei Anderson einen primär artifiziellen
Charakter, sondern Östlund beschreitet mit dem naturalistischen Gestus seiner (zum
größten Teil) Laiendarsteller und den Originalschauplätzen einen anderen Weg.
Ob die “statisch-sture“ Kamera den “Authentizitätseffekt“ nun verstärkt oder
verhindert, ob sie nervt oder genial ist, darüber lässt sich streiten. Mir hat die
Mise-en-scène damals aber sehr gut gefallen, da sie präzise arrangiert,
das Off mit einbezieht und die Fantasie des Zuschauers anregt. Die Pein und Peinlichkeiten
der einzelnen Situationen kommen in dieser Form sehr schön zu Geltung und
übertragen sich auf den Zuschauer – finde ich!

indiscretions and misbehavior abound. Leffe likes to show off for his friends
and play salacious pranks, especially when he's drinking. Meanwhile, a

Ruben Östlund’s Involuntary, a chillingly precise examination of
