JAPANESE STORY is an insightful example of contemporary Australian cinema. Much Australian film and television celebrates the uniqueness of the landscape, and having grown up watching predominantly Autralian content, I have a particular interest and perhaps sentimental attachment to the Australian aesthetic explored through the country's cultural output. In the case of JAPANESE STORY, it's especially interesting to see the experience of a visitor in this melieu played out on screen.
